Preventive Medicine Associates President Dr. Punyamurtula S. Kishore Honored with 2009 St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center Employee and Medical Staff Service Award
Brighton, MA – December 4th, 2009 – Dr. Punyamurtula S. Kishore, President of Preventive Medicine Associates (PMA),a group of family practices located throughout Massachusetts focused on bringing the best care to their patients and community, was honored with the 2009 St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center Employee and Medical Staff Service Awards on Friday, December 4th at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Brighton.
“Employee and Medical Staff Service Award recipients’ hard work and loyalty to St. Elizabeth’s is a reflection of our commitment to delivering the best health care to the communities we serve,” said John Holiver, President of St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center.
A tradition of more than 15 years, the Medical Center Employee and Medical Staff Service Awards Ceremony celebrates and honors both clinical and non-clinical staff who have dedicated five plus years of service to the St. Elizabeth’s family. Dr. Kishore has dedicated 15 years of service to St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center as an attending physician.
“I have been fortunate to work all these years with St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center whose commitment to community health care I deeply admire,” said Dr. Kishore. “I am honored to receive this award and look forward to many more years of service at the Medical Center .”
Dr. Kishore has been a practicing public health scientist for over 30 years and has established the “sobriety maintenance” treatment method at PMA. This unique health model stresses the prescription of non-toxic substances, provides patients with coping skills they need to remain sober and tailors treatment to specific medical conditions.
Dr. Kishore also founded the National Library of Addictions (NLA) in Brookline in 1993, which is an intellectual gathering place for health care professionals and community members working to overcome the effects of addictions.
