A LOOK BACK: BERNIE MAC & ISSAC HAYES WE WILL MISS YOU BOTH; MISS RAP SUPREME’S CHIBA TALKS TO THE BOOMBOX ABOUT LIFE AFTER REALITY TV; HELLBOY II Vs THE DARK KNIGHT
ATLANTA (GA) – Following the untimely deaths of Bernie Mac and Isaac Hayes, our hearts are saddened by the loss of two icons of comedy, acting and music. ‘The BOOMBox Online’ takes a look back at the life and times of these two entertainment icons that will be forever immortalized in our memories. Mac, a Chicago native, climbed the long ladder of success from break out comedy routines on Russell Simmons’ Def Comedy Jam to an impressive career in movies with memorable roles in ‘Friday’ and ‘ Ocean’s 11, 12, and 13′ and on television with ‘The Bernie Mac Show’. Perhaps best know for the theme song to ‘Shaft’ and more recently the voice of the character Chef from the hit animated series South Park, Hayes has always delivered with his music and acting in Keenan Ivory Wayans’ ‘I’m Gonna Get You Sucka’.
The world was introduced to Chiba as she competed for the title of VH1’s Miss Rap Supreme where instead she earned the title of “most hated on” FEM-C on the show. But one thing is for sure the world will be seeing and hearing plenty more from this rapping Diva. Recently The BOOMBox ONline caught up with Chiba; they got up close and personal about her rough early life, being a reality TV star, and being a mother.
“The biggest thing that VH1 gave me was exposure but everything you see on reality TV isn’t real,” she shares in a candid interview as she sets the record straight. “Working with MC Search and Yo-Yo was great. Search is so humble and Yo-Yo is 100% real.”
Check out the August issue of the Boom Box at www.ATLMovementradio.com and find out why she was so hated by the other FEM-C’s on the show, how she overcame growing up without her parents and how she beat the odds while surviving a near fatal car accident to emerge as an inspiration to women everywhere.
